Reports across the last few weeks have settled on a fee somewhere between £60m and £65m as the number City want before sanctioning a sale. That figure would represent a huge profit on the £30.8m City paid Troyes for him back in July 2024.
Tottenham have been in talks for weeks, but City’s stance has hardened rather than softened. The Brazilian only started 14 of his 36 appearances across all competitions last season, finishing with four goals and three assists. Restricted minutes under a new coaching setup have clearly played a part in his push to leave. Earlier reporting on this pursuit tracked City’s initial resistance to a sale, and subsequent coverage flagged £60m as the figure that could unlock a deal, a number that now sits at the low end of City’s current range.

City’s priority is securing an incoming winger before signing off on Savinho’s departure. Fabrizio Romano has linked City with Neto as a target if Savinho completes his move to Spurs, with the Brazilian winger also on Tottenham’s list as a backup option.
This is Enzo Maresca’s first transfer window in charge at the Etihad since replacing Pep Guardiola in the summer. City have already reshaped parts of the squad following the departures of Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Manuel Akanji, and Nathan Ake, while breaking their transfer record to sign Elliot Anderson.
