Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is headed to “The Big Friendly.”
Former UFC Middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis collides with former Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in UFC Oklahoma City’s main event, which takes place next month (Sat., July 18, 2026) inside Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Today, the promotion released UFC Oklahoma City’s official promotional poster on social media.
Nevertheless, du Plessis (23-3) returns for the first time since losing his 185-pound title to Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 319. Prior to that setback, “DDP” was on a tear, winning nine straight inside the Octagon and 11 straight overall.
During that run, the South African smashed his way through several notable names, including Robert Whittaker (watch highlights), Darren Till, and Derek Brunson (watch highlights), to earn a Middleweight title fight against Sean Strickland, which he won via split decision. Du Plessis went on to defend his title twice before running into Chimaev.
As for Usman (21-4), he is moving up to Middleweight for just the second time in his UFC career as he looks to make a run at a second title in a second division. The former dominant Welterweight champion got himself back in the win column in his last outing, snapping a three-fight losing streak when he shut out Joaquin Buckley.
With Strickland now sitting on the Middleweight throne — and holding history with both men — the stakes are massive.
