ESL (Electronic Sports League) officially announced the return of ESL One to Birmingham in 2024. This marks the third time the renowned esports tournament will be hosted in the vibrant city. Dota 2 enthusiasts will finally be able to enjoy and savor Dota 2 in the United Kingdom (UK) between 22nd April 22nd and 28th April 2024.
ESL One Birmingham 2024 is the second ESL-organized tournament of 2024 after DreamLeague Season 22. It boasts a staggering $1 Million USD prize pool along with 26,640 EPT points up for grabs. While some big teams like Gaimin Gladiators, Team Liquid, Xtreme Gaming, and BetBoom Team have made it safely to the main tournament through the EPT leaderboard, other teams have to go through rigorous regional qualifiers.
Of these, the Western Europe (WEU) region can be named the most competitive as it features powerhouse teams such as OG, Entity, Team Secret, and Tundra Esports amongst others.
The WEU regional qualifiers are slated to kick off on 28th January and from here only one team will make it to the main tournament. Here’s everything you need to know about ESL One Birmingham 2024.
ESL One Birmingham 2024 WEU Closed Qualifier: Teams, Matches, Dates and Time
Featuring eight teams, the WEU regional qualifier is going to be the most competitive. While OG, Entity, Team Secret, Tundra Esports, Team Tickles, and B8 received a direct invite to the closed qualifier, NaVi Junior and Ninja Penguins made their way through the open qualifier #1 and open qualifier #2, respectively.

The ESL One Birmingham 2024 WEU regional closed qualifier will have games running simultaneously and it will be streamed on both Twitch and YouTube.

ESL One Birmingham 2024 brings a unique twist to the fore with an increased distribution of EPT (ESL Pro Tour) points. The tournament will allocate 22,520 EPT points among the participating teams, providing a greater incentive for top-notch performances. The EPT point distribution will be higher for the later tournaments. This will now be a recurring effect as the tournaments progress closer to an undisclosed tournament. The invitation process for ESL One Birmingham 2024 involves four directly invited teams, with the other eight fighting through qualifiers.
