Match Overview
South Africa and New Zealand will take on each other in the second semifinal of the Champions Trophy 2025. New Zealand, on the other hand, went down to India in the last group stage game of the tournament. Matt Henry had India in early trouble at 30/3, but India recovered, thanks to Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel. The former made a fifty after taking his time to get settled. Hardik Pandya made a cameo at the end, but Henry returned to complete his fifer at the death and contain India to what appeared to be a below-par 249.
India’s spinners then took over on the slow Dubai track. Kane Williamson made a fifty, but the spinners kept the pressure on throughout the middle overs, and New Zealand’s batter came a cropper as the asking rate kept climbing up. Varun Chakravarthy took a fifer of his own to keep the Kiwis in check and keep India’s unbeaten streak going in the tournament.
