The Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Jay Shah, was spotted entering the hotel where Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are residing ahead of the final of the IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League) in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3.
He was seen exiting a car and being greeted by a few people at the entrance of the hotel. There have been no developments on what transpired inside the hotel or how long Shah remained there. RCB will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the title decider at the same venue where Qualifier 2 was played. The Rajat Patidar-led side had earlier defeated PBKS in Mullanpur in what was a resounding eight-wicket triumph in Qualifier 1.
PBKS were bowled out for 101 in 14.1 overs, the fewest overs batted by any team in the history of IPL playoffs. Josh Hazlewood (3/21 in 3.1 overs) and Suyash Sharma (3/17 in three overs) were the standout performers with the ball. An unbeaten half-century by Phil Salt (56* off 27) sealed the win.

As far as the league phase is concerned, both sides ended with 19 points. PBKS and RCB finished first and second, respectively, with net run rate determining their final positions on the points table. PBKS had an NRR of +0.372, while RCB followed closely at +0.301.
RCB have not been able to get over the line on three previous occasions in the final of the marquee T20 league. As for PBKS, this marks their first appearance in an IPL final since the 2014 edition, when they missed out on the title by a narrow three-wicket margin with as many deliveries to spare.
