Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) continues to trim its expansive roster of mixed martial arts (MMA) talent to make room for new Contender Series signees.
Today (Thurs., Sept. 11, 2025), reporter Tom Feely revealed that six fighters have been removed from UFC active’s roster, meaning they have been released from their respective contracts and/or the promotion decided not to extend them.
Maryna Moroz, Austin Hubbard, Maheshate, Preston Parsons, Westin Wilson, and Melissa Martinez are the six fighters who lost their spots on UFC’s active roster this time around.
The most prominent fighter to lose their spot on the roster is Moroz (11-6). The Ukrainian fighter held a position in the Women’s Flyweight Top 15 rankings for a few years. She entered the UFC in 2015 and pulled off a massive upset against Joanne Wood, submitting her in the first round.
Moroz is riding a three-fight losing streak and leaves UFC with a promotional record of 6–6.
Hubbard (16-10) did not have much success in his second stint with the promotion, going 1-4, losing his last three fights.
“Thud” was released in 2021 after going 3-4. He battled back on the regional scene, scoring two wins before getting a chance to compete on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, where he made it to the finals, losing against Kurt Holobaugh via submission.
Hubbard exits the promotion with a 4-8 record.
Wilson (17-10) had a tough schedule during his UFC run, fighting and getting brutally knocked out by Joanderson Brito, Jean Silva, and, most recently by Yizha (watch highlights).
The 36-year-old did score one win in the promotion, submitting Jeka Saragih in the first round with a triangle armbar (watch highlights).
For what it is worth, Wilson produced and starred in an upcoming documentary Paperweight, following musician Andrew P. Oliver’s fighting journey.
Wilson exits the promotion with a 1-3 record.
Parsons (11-6) exits the promotion with a 2-4 record, with wins over Matthew Semelsberger and Evan Elder.
Maheshate (10-5) scored a huge win in his UFC debut, knocking out Steve Garcia, but then lost four of five. He exits the promotion with a 2-4 record.
Martinez (8-2) went 1-2 in UFC, only defeating Alice Ardelean.
