UFC 315 took place last night (Sat., May 10, 2025) inside Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV). In the Welterweight title fight main event, Jack Della Maddalena dethroned Belal Muhammad from the mountain top with an impressive unanimous decision win (see it again here). In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko defeated Manon Fiorot to retain her women’s Flyweight title (see it again here), while Aiemann Zahabi defeated Jose Aldo via unanimous decision (recap here).

Winner: Jack Della Maddalena
Who He Should Face Next: Shavkat Rakhmonov
I know the big talk is about potentially having current Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev move up to face “JDM” in his first-ever title defense, but I personally don’t feel that move, at least not right now. I would much rather see Makhachev defend his 155-pound strap against Ilia Topuria, and then have Maddalena defend against Rakhmonov, who is the rightful No. 1 contender. Sorry, Ian.

Winner: Valentina Shevchenko
Who She Should Face Next: Natalia Silva
Speaking of “champ vs. champ” fights, it seems like it’s high time UFC books a much-desired bout between Shevchenko — the queen of the Flyweights — and Zhang Weili, the Strawweight champion. Zhang called for it last night, and her moving up to challenge for that belt is the move to make…a bit later. Natalia Silva looked great last night by defeating former champion, Alexa Grasso, and she is more than deserving of getting a crack at “Bullet.” Silva is on a 13-fight win streak, and has won all seven of her fights inside the Octagon, and should claim the No. 1 spot next week.

Winner: Aiemann Zahabi
Who He Should Face Next: Marlon Vera vs. Mario Bautisa winner
After Zahabi defeated Jose Aldo last night, he got on the mic and called for a fight against Marlon Vera. The problem with this is “Chito” is currently booked to face off against Mario Bautista at UFC 316 in June. Zahabi — winner of six straight — should keep a close eye on that fight because he could be facing the winner.

Winner: Benoit Saint Denis
Who He SHould Face Next: Joel Alvarez
It’s a no-brainer, UFC needs to re-book this fight after Alvarez withdrew due to a hand injury. Saint Denis stayed on the card and submitted Kyle Prepolec in the second round. “God of War” escaped unfazed, so if he can just sit back and wait for Alvarez’s hand to get better so they can settle their business once and for all.
