West Indies women outplayed Pakistan women, securing a convincing 88-run win in the third and final ODI held at the National Stadium in Karachi on Tuesday, April 23. Having previously won the first two ODIs, West Indies completed a clean sweep of the series, triumphing 3-0.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, captain Hayley Matthews and wicketkeeper-batter Rashada Williams added 37 runs for the first wicket. Mattews led her side from the front, bringing up a stunning hundred. Her innings ended at 141 off 149 deliveries as West Indies posted 278 runs in the allotted 50 overs. Her knock was studded with 19 boundaries.
In addition to the all-rounder’s crucial innings, Stefanie Taylor and Shemaine Campbelle made significant contributions, scoring 47 and 38 runs, respectively. Nashra Sandhu emerged as Pakistan’s standout bowler, having finished with excellent figures of 3/54 in her full quota. Meanwhile, Fatima Sana and captain Nida Dar picked up two and one wickets, respectively.

West Indies showcased dominance in the second innings, as Chinelle Henry sent back opener Shadaf Shams to the pavilion for 10 runs in the sixth over. Karishma Ranharack dismissed Bismah Maroof for 19 runs shortly after Shamilia Connell removed opener Sidra Ameen.
Matthews continued West Indies’ momentum by claiming back-to-back wickets, dismissing her counterpart Nida Dar and Pakistan’s top-scorer Muneeba Ali (38) in the 24th and 27th overs, respectively, leaving Pakistan at 95/5. Stefanie Taylor further intensified pressure on the home side by dismissing Fatima Sana and Aliya Riyaz respectively. Eventually, the tourists bowled out Pakistan for 190 in 47.5 overs.
Matthews, who starred with both bat and ball, emerged as the Player of the Match. Her outstanding performances throughout all three ODIs earned her the title of Player of the Series as well.
