In the 3rd T20I held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, in Pallekele, India defeated Sri Lanka in the super over.
Asking to bat first, India lost the openers early, Shubman Gill 39(37) played good Innings which helped India to post a decent total. Riyan Parag 26(18) and Washington Sundar 25(18) both played good innings which helped India to post a par total of 137 on that pitch. Speaking of the bowling of Sri Lanka, Mahesh Theekshana (4-0-28-3) bowled beautifully which kept the target under 150. Wanindu Hasaranga (4-0-23-2) was also bowled well and gave excellent support to Theekshana.
In response, Sri Lanka openers started a stitched 50-run partnership. After that, Kusal Perera 46(34) played superb innings but he didn’t get support from any other batters. Speaking of the bowling of India, Rinku Singh (1-0-3-2) who bowled the 19th over bowled superbly and changed the game. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav (1-0-5-2) who bowled the final over also bowled beautifully, which helped India tie the game and gave excellent support to Rinku. The Men in Blue then decided to let Washington Sundar bowl the Super over where he dismissed Nissanka and Perara to ensure India only had to chase three runs as target, Skipper Suryakumar Yadav then swept hard on the first ball and picked a boundary and sealed the game for India to complete a whitewash over Sri Lanka in the T20I series which concluded in Kandy.
