Crystal Palace are lining up a transfer for Bayern Munich fullback Sacha Boey, who could be available for as little as £12 million.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner has made it clear he intends to strengthen his squad in the upcoming window.
A number of areas need attention, but right wing-back has become a key priority.
With Daniel Munoz the only realistic option and Nathaniel Clyne looking well past his best, reinforcements are clearly needed.
Crystal Palace’s injury problems have been mounting, with Munoz the latest to suffer a long-term blow.
Those at Selhurst Park have a number of possible transfer targets, but one man has emerged as the leading candidate.
Bayern Munich defender Sacha Boey has struggled for game time at the Bavarian giants.
And with a number of Premier League clubs interested, he is reported to be available in January for a very low fee.
Crystal Palace Preparing Low-Cost Move For Sacha Boey
According to several reports, Palace could secure Boey’s services for as little as £12m.
Bayern director Max Eberl has already opened the door for Boey to depart in January.
“There could always be a player who’s perhaps a bit dissatisfied,” said Eberl.
“And who, now that the injured players are returning, says: ‘I want to do something different’.”

French fullback Boey is thought to be desperate to leave Bayern before his career stagnates.
With just 37 appearances in two seasons, many of which have been from the bench, the 25-year-old joined his current club in 2024.
But a lack of game time and clear role as no more than a squad player have pushed Boey towards the exit door.
Bayern do not wish to stand in his way, and are prepared to listen to offers, including for a loan.
Palace have since emerged as the leading candidates to sign Boey.
Oliver Glasner is desperate for depth and quality at right-back, especially now Daniel Munoz’s injury has ruled him out for two months.
The Colombian has been excellent for Palace, so will be a big loss for the Eagles.
But while Boey is a key target for Palace, he has also attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle and others.
And given his low potential cost, few clubs would be put off by the finances involved.
Should Crystal Palace Sign Boey?
There is doubting that Sacha Boey would add depth and quality to Oliver Glasner’s squad.
The Frenchman would compete with Munoz for the starting spot, and provide a much-needed alternative.
But Palace have other positions that also need attention.

With Ismaila Sarr away at AFCON, the club may seek to prioritise bringing in a new winger.
As a result, Boey might not be the most important signing on Palace’s shopping list.
This means that despite a £12m expected fee, the club may still not be willing to spend that much on him.
Newcastle are therefore lying in wait should any move to Palace fail to materialise in January.
