Just a few weeks after onboarding Daniel “Ghost” Chan Kok Hong and Roman “rmN-” Paley, Nigma Galaxy has parted ways with both players. The roster update announcement now leaves the organization searching for an offlaner and position four. The departure of Ghost and rmN- comes just 15 days after they had joined Nigma following a disappointing performance in the qualifiers for BetBoom Dacha Dubai and DreamLeague Season 2022. In a separate tweet, Nigma also announced that the other three players on the roster will remain, with new players for these two roles to be announced soon.
Nigma releases Ghost and rmN two weeks into recruitment
“Today we’re parting way with @Ghostdota98 and @rmN_dota. Thank you for joining us and helping us out on such short notice, we wish you all the best,” Nigma wrote on Twitter.
There are now three players on the Nigma Dota 2 roster, with the offlane duo missing.

“Moving forward with our Dota team, we have faith in our current core roster of KuroKy, Miracle and Sumail and we’ll be working around them to create a full finalized roster,” a separate tweet from the organization said, adding that the updated roster would be revealed before the Birmingham qualifiers.
Nigma was one of the last teams to announce its 2024 Dota 2 roster. In addition to SumaiL and Miracle- returning, it announced Ghost, who has primarily played as a carry player during his career, as the new offlaner and rmN-, a player with little to no competitive playing experience over the past few years, as the new position four player.
During the closed qualifiers for BetBoom Dacha Dubai, the team did not appear to be in the best shape and finished fourth. Nigma had a similar fate in the DreamLeague S22 qualifier, finishing fourth, demonstrating limitations both in regards to drafting and playstyle.
Following a disappointing start to the 2024 competitive season, Nigma appeared poised for a roster change, and the move came shortly after the conclusion of the last qualifier. The team has faced challenges in finding success over the past few years and also recently saw the departure of core players Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov and Maroun “GH” Merhej.
Nigma, eager to make a return, will next compete in the ESL One Birmingham 2024 qualifier. The closed qualifier begins in a week, thus the new lineup shall be revealed soon.
