Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025.
Top Australian prospect 23-year-old Isaac Thomson (9-2) has signed to the UFC on short-notice to replace Melsik Baghdasaryan opposite Brazilian slugger Joanderson Brito this weekend. Brito is a tough fight for any Featherweight, but Thomson is a well-deserved signing and might surprise a few people.
Joshua Van got too much hate for celebrating at UFC 323. Wouldn’t you be excited if you just made an additional six-figures in 30 seconds?
UFC Fight Pass may be dying, which would be quite the blow to regional MMA.
I feel like this list has Tatsuro Taira disrespectfully low. There’s a real chance he’s champion within six months!
The hot tub wars are ongoing.
Sean Strickland is already doing his best to bite the hand that feeds. I wonder if Paramount will care more about this kind of thing than ESPN?
An update: Raja Jackson does not seem to be having a great time.
Slips, rips, and KO clips
One of the most surprising results of the weekend was Fabricio Andrade losing his ONE title.
It’s rare with see a spinning kick starting from the opposite stance in MMA. Nasty body shots!
Legal or illegal? It ended in bullying either way.
It’s hard to look away from this train wreck.
