Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) president Faruque Ahmed recently came forward to express how thrilled he was with Bangladesh’s current pace attack. He stated the same at the inning bonus handing over ceremony for the national team at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. However, in doing so, he went against the BCB’s directive that there was to be no media interaction at the event.
The BCB recently came forward and released a media statement, stating that there would be no press conference during the programme. However, the president himself went against the directive.
“Please note, no press conference or media briefing has been arranged. Only photojournalists and videographers/camera persons will have the opportunity to capture images and videos,” the media release stated.

The directive was proven false after Ahmed spoke with the media present. In his conversation with the press, Faruque Ahmed was particularly enthusiastic about the current state of Bangladesh’s pace attack.
“The most exciting part is our pace bowling unit. I have never seen a pace bowling attack like this from Bangladesh in my lifetime. We know that we have a good spin attack, but the pace bowling was unbelievable,” Faruque said as quoted by The Daily Star, Bangladesh.
It is worth noting that Bangladesh’s pacers have been enjoying a good phase as of late; the likes of Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam were crucial parts of Bangladesh’s recent series triumph against Pakistan.
