Liverpool wrapped up the Premier League title with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday.
Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton have also been confirmed as the three relegated teams to the Championship.
And judging by the Premier League standings, Arsenal will likely finish second for the third year in a row.
However, the remaining three Champions League spots are up for grabs among five teams.
Newcastle United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are all battling to secure European football and it will be interesting to see which teams ultimately win.
Below we look at five of the best top-flight matches for fans to watch in May.
Newcastle United vs Chelsea (11 May)
Given the tight nature of the race for Champions League football, both sides cannot afford to lose this match. Newcastle have enjoyed a better form in the last two months, but Chelsea are starting to build momentum just at the right time, having claimed back-to-back wins over Fulham and Everton.
Chelsea vs Manchester United (16 May)
Chelsea were regarded as title contenders at one point, but their fortunes have seen a drastic decline in the new year. The Blues face the toughest run of fixtures compared to their other four opponents, but their recent form suggests they could finish inside the top-five. Manchester United are not a formidable team anymore, but the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in their most recent league fixture in November.
Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur (18 May)
Aston Villa’s bid to win the FA Cup ended last weekend after a disappointing 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the semi-final. They now turn all their focus to securing a top-five finish and face a tricky fixture with Tottenham on 18 May. Spurs have been massively underwhelming this campaign, but they boast some top-class players in their ranks.
Arsenal vs Newcastle United (18 May)
Newcastle stunned Arsenal with a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture at St James’ Park in November. However, pulling off a similar feat at the Emirates Stadium would be a huge task for Eddie Howe’s side. The Magpies have been excellent in recent months, but they would have to produce a special performance to beat Arsenal in their own backyard.
Newcastle United vs Everton (25 May)
Everton held Newcastle to a goalless draw when the two sides met at St James’ Park in September. Sean Dyche was at the helm at that time, but they have since appointed David Moyes as their manager. The Toffees have been completely transformed under Moyes, and Newcastle should expect a tough contest against them on 25 May.
