The Dota 2 offseason picked up steam after the conclusion of The International 2023. Almost all teams from across regions are keen on revamping their rosters and rebuilding from scratch. Amidst these developments, in an unexpected twist, Indonesian esports organization BOOM Esports made a strategic move. It has moved from Southeast Asia (SEA) to South America (SA) by adopting a new Dota 2 roster. The announcement comes shortly after the organization parted ways with its previous Dota 2 lineup earlier this month on 3rd November 2023. It noted its intention to reform its Dota 2 roster.
Notably, the members that were picked up by BOOM Esports were actively seeking an organization to represent them. The players are as follows:
BOOM Esports’ Shifts Region To South America
Remarkably, the new BOOM Esports Dota 2 roster includes two players from Evil Geniuses (EG) and Thunder Awaken each, with one player hailing from beastcoast. The dynamic trio of Pakazs, Matthew, and kaffs transitioned from Evil Geniuses, while SLATEM$ and Mjz joined the ranks from Thunder Awaken. Sacred, the final piece of the puzzle, makes his entrance from beastcoast.
Adding further depth to the lineup, BOOM Esports enlisted Gor “kaffs” Furtado as the coach. kaffs previously coached Evil Geniuses.
It is to be noted that recently both beastcoast and Evil Geniuses disbanded their Dota 2 rosters, leaving their talented players in search of new opportunities. BOOM Esports seized this opportunity to bolster its lineup with these talented players who are no strangers to the professional Dota 2 scene, with all of them having competed in The International.
While The International 2023 did not have a favorable outcome for these players during their tenure with Thunder Awaken, beastcoast and EG , they will hope to synergize with each other better and have favorable tournament outcomes in the future while on BOOM Esports.
With the open qualifier #2 for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 poised to kick off tomorrow on 14th November, all eyes are on BOOM Esports. The community eagerly anticipates whether this newly formed roster will participate in the qualifiers and, more importantly, how it will showcase its team synergy in a highly competitive tournament setting.
