Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf, who is often regarded as a toxic king and one of the most innovative and competent offlaners in the Dota 2 pro scene, talked to Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden at the DreamLeague Season 22.
During the post-game interview, Sheever was curious to know who ATF considers as the best offlaner other than himself. ATF replied that BetBoom Team’s Matvey “MieRo” Vasyunin was currently the best offlaner in the world, thanks to his massive improvement since his move to BetBoom Team from 9Pandas.
ATF’s Opinion on the Best Offlaner in Dota 2
On 5th March, Team Falcons went head-to-head against BetBoom Team in a best-of-three series at DreamLeague Season 22. These two teams are currently considered the best teams in the tournament in terms of win rate. However, Team Falcons was able to clean sweep its competition.
In a post-game interview with Sheever, ATF shared his opinion on the best offlaner in the current Dota 2 scene other than himself. He said, “Best offlaner? I’d say it’s hard for me to say best offlaner cause from everyone I take some things. So, I’d say the best one currently is MieRo cause I think he improved way too much and fitted BetBoom perfectly and BetBoom Team became way stronger. So I think it probably has to be him right now.”
MieRo joined BetBoom Team on 11th January 2024 after 9Pandas decided to move MieRo to its inactive roster following the disappointing performance at The International 2023. Since joining BetBoom Team, MieRo has represented the team in two tournaments so far. Although the first tournament, BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai, didn’t end in favor of the team, it was still commendable. BetBoom Team finished BetBoom Dachca 2024 Dubai with a 3rd finish after being knocked out of the tournament by Team Liquid in a 1-2 series.
On the other hand, in the ongoing DreamLeague Season 22, while some big teams like Gaimin Gladiators and Team Spirit are struggling, things are looking good for BetBoom Team. Just like what ATF said, BetBoom Team looks to be a strong contender for the title after Team Falcons. Currently, BetBoom Team is sitting in a comfortable second place on the standings and is set to face Aurora later today on 7th March.
