Daniel Cormier said Ben Askren was “back home.”
“I wanna report to you guys that he is now back home in Wisconsin,” Cormier said on YouTube. “He’s with his family, his beautiful wife Amy, and everybody’s just kinda praying that Ben gets better and we can start moving forward with life for Ben.”
What “DC’ meant was “home in Wisconsin,” as the former UFC welterweight is still hospitalized with pneumonia.
“He’s back in Wisconsin in a hospital,” Cormier wrote in a follow-up post on Twitter. “He isn’t home. Please keep praying for Ben. I should have been more clear.”
went online last night to refute rumors that “Funky” had passed away from his illness. Unfortunately, his choice of words led some media outlets to report that Askren was back inside his physical home, not home state.
Regardless, any update that ends with the 40 year-old Askren alive and fighting for his recovery is positive news.
