The first Test between Bangladesh and South Africa has been underway. Only the two days have gone past until now, but there has been no respite to each side’s supporters when it comes to action-packed play on the field. A franctic moment occurred on the last delivery of the 69th over of South Africa’s innings which left the spectators at the venue amused.
Dane Piedt was offered a full-toss outside the off-stump by Hasan Mahmud, which was nudged down back to him. The bowler stuck in his right hand in the directon of the delivery and the ball hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end.
Meanwhile, Piedt was halfway down the pitch before taking a U-turn to protect himself as he had come far down to take a single. Mahmud had enough time to line up his throw, but he launched the ball waywardly, hitting Piedt on his way back to the crease instead of reaching wicketkeeper Litton Das or hitting the stumps. Funnily enough, it was Verreynne who received treatment from the physio (on his right leg) soon after the completion of the over.

Proteas on top despite Bangladesh batting fightback
Coming to the match, Bangladesh trail the visitors by as many runs as they have scored in the second innings. Shadnam Islam and Mominul Haque were yet again dismissed by Kagiso Rabada while Shanto was trapped plumb in front by spinner Keshav Maharaj.
