Dwayne Bravo played most of his cricket in the Indian Premier League for the Chennai Super Kings. The veteran recently announced retirement from all forms of cricket. Hours after his retirement, the news of his induction as the Kolkata Knight Riders’ mentor was revealed. Previously, the all-rounder after announcing his retirement from IPL was part of CSK’s camp as the bowling coach.
The Shahrukh Khan owner franchise was recently crowned as the winner of the IPL 2024. Bravo will be replacing Gautam Gambhir as the mentor in the Purple Camp. After being bestowed with the crucial responsibility, the Caribbean said that he always vouched for a position where generation could get inspired. He also revealed Shahrukh’s message where the actor provided a sneak peek into the KKR culture.

“To all the Knight Riders fans and all DJ Bravo fans around the world, first, I want to say thank you. A big, big thank you to the Knight Riders family and the management for trusting me, giving me the opportunity to be a part of a very special franchise. I want to say a big thank you also to the management and staff of the Chennai Super Kings for giving me the blessings to move on and carry on in my journey. I believe I always wanted to be in a position where I could inspire the next generation of champions,” Bravo said in the video.
“So now, with that being said. I look forward to doing my best and I look forward to doing great things with the team in Purple. To our boss SRK (Shah Rukh Khan), as he always says, we are going to enjoy, we are going to have fun. We are going to party and we are going to win. From the Champion, thank you very much. Bravo ended its illustrious franchise cricket playing a whopping 582 games across the globe. Particularly for CSK, he was part of the team in their four title wins. He is the third-highest wicket-taker in IPL history with 183 wickets. Further adding, he is the first player to win two purple caps in IPL, he achieved this feat in 2013 and 2015.
