Fabian Edwards will get another chance to win Bellator gold.
Nine months after losing to current Middleweight champion, Johnny Eblen, the Jamaican-born fighter will get his rematch in the main event of Bellator London on Sept. 14, 2024, at OVO Arena Wembley in London, England.
Bellator 299 in Dublin, Ireland, back in Sept. 2023 (see it again here) to secure his second straight title defense. Tension increased after the fight because UFC Welterweight champion, Leon Edwards, took exception with Eblen standing over his brother in celebration, leading to a shouting match between the two.
Five months later, Eblen then went on to defeat PFL’s Light Heavyweight champion, Impa Kasanganay, at the historic “PFL vs. Bellator Champion vs. Champion” super show in Riyadh. In his bounce back fight following his loss to Eblen — the first of his career — Edwards went on to defeat Aaron Jeffery via unanimous decision at Bellator Belfast this past March to earn his way back into championship contention. Edwards will look to hand Eblen — who is undefeated (15-0) — his first defeat by learning from his costly mistakes in their first fight.
There are no other fights confirmed for the event, but you can expect more matchups to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
