Earlier this week, Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak from Team Falcons had expressed uncertainty about his visa status, sharing that he might miss out on the upcoming ESL One Birmingham 2024 tournament.
Well, it seems that the organization is prepared for the eventuality that Malr1ne might not be able to make it for the Dota 2 event, registering Nigma Galaxy’s midlaner, Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan, as a substitute, according to information available on Liquipedia.
Considering that Team Falcons has decided to include Malr1ne in the team’s active roster for ESL One Birmingham 2024 and listed SumaiL as a substitute could mean that there is a possibility he might join the team later in the tournament once his visa gets approved.
Team Falcons Might Start ESL One Birmingham 2024 With SumaiL Instead of Malr1ne
In light of Malr1ne’s recent uncertainty about attending the ESL One Birmingham 2024 due to visa delays, Team Falcons have included Nigma Galaxy’s SumaiL as a substitute and will most likely continue playing in the tournament with SumaiL.
In an earlier Telegram message, Malr1ne had posted a video message for his fans and followers in which he had stated, “I’m okay and well. I am still waiting for an answer regarding my visa. Perhaps I will still come there. They should give it to me any day, but they are delaying it for no reason at all. I don’t know why — they’re hesitating. We’ll see if I can go or not. So pray for me. I think they will give me this visa.”
Team Falcons, however, have not made an official statement on the situation yet and this information was discovered through the official Liquipedia page of ESL One Birmingham 2024.
SumaiL’s team, Nigma Galaxy had also tried to qualify for ESL One Birmingham 2024 but failed to make its way to the main tournament after it lost to Team Falcons in the upper bracket finals and was knocked out by PSG Quest in the lower bracket finals.
ESL One Birmingham 2024 is slated to kick off on 22nd April 2024 and Team Falcons will be going against BetBoom Team on the first day.
With a million-dollar prize pool and 26,640 EPT points up for grabs, the tournament is expected to witness a fierce battle between the competitors and only the strongest Dota 2 team will emerge on the top.
