On 2nd March, Shopify Rebellion beat Gaimin Gladiators in a 2-1 series showdown at DreamLeague Season 22 group stage 2. Following the series, Shopify Rebellion’s Artour “Arteezu” Babaev sat down in a post-game interview with Neal “Tsunami” Khandheria and Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann. During the interview, Tsunami asked what it feels like to play with the new players of Shopify Rebellion since it had been a long time since Arteezy played with completely new teammates. Arteezy candidly expressed that it was a new experience for him and there were many things that he didn’t realize about forming a new team.
Arteezy Shares His Thoughts On New Shopify Rebellion Players
On Day 2 of the ongoing DreamLeague Season 22 group stage 2, Shopify Rebellion beat Gaimin Gladiators in a breath-taking 2-1 series. Shopify’s performance in the ongoing tournament has been nothing short of extraordinary and is pumping hopes back into its fans that there’s still some life left in the team.
In a post-game interview with Tsunami, Arteezy talked about playing with completely new players in the team and said it was a new experience. He also said, “It’s been new man, we’ve played with the same cores in the last team for a long time. It’s like a lot of teams I hadn’t even realized about making a new team. Pretty much went through the motions, even though I knew it was going to be difficult and take effort and time. It was still a weird thing to go through the reality of it.”
He further added, “I’m learning a lot about my teammates, I honestly feel like my teammates in scrims are griefing compared to their performances in these matches. So, it’s kinda like now I know next time I’m gonna grief in the scrims next time. Yopaj just feeds on all the scrims.”
Following this, KheZu chimed in and asked Arteezy if he would attribute his improvement in games to the new teammates or randomness. Arteezy replied that it was a bit of randomness because “people look good when they play the heroes they know how to play and everyone kinda knows their job and propels each other up. Usually, when one player plays good and four people are playing bad, it doesn’t mean that one person is way better than his allies.”
Shopify Rebellion’s win against Gaimin was one to be applauded. The exhilarating series was taken by Shopify due to some clutch moments and quick decisions from the team.
Arteezy explained that Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer could have just “1v9 this sh*t,” in game three and was all praise for his new teammate.
At the time of writing, Shopify Rebellion sits at a comfortable third position in the table with 2 series wins and 1 series loss. However, Shopify’s journey is just getting started as it is gearing off to face the toughest teams of the tournaments, namely OG, Team Spirit, Xtreme Gaming, and Team Falcons.
