Paris Saint-Germain will return to Champions League action on Wednesday night as they take on Real Sociedad at the Parc des Princes in the first-leg of their round of 16 tie.
The Parisians cruised to a 3-1 win against Lille in their most recent league outing, while their European opponents this week suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Osasuna in La Liga.
Match Preview
PSG have put together a spectacular run of form after a wobble in the early weeks of the season.
Since the 3-2 defeat against Nice in September, they have yet to lose a game in the Ligue 1.
Their incredible unbeaten run looked in some danger at the weekend after Lille took an early lead through Yusuf Yazıcı.
But the visitors’ lead was short-lived as Goncalo Ramos equalised before an own-goal from Alexsandro turned the game on its head.
Randal Kolo Muani then capped off a comfortable victory for Luis Enrique’s side by scoring the third goal in the 80th minute.
The result means PSG have now reached 50 points from 21 games and have an unassailable 11 points lead at the Ligue 1 summit.
The French giants now turn their attention to Europe where they will take on Real Sociedad in the home-leg on Wednesday.
Imanol Alguacil’s men have been enduring an indifferent run of form recently, as they have won just two of their last six matches in all competitions.
Their most recent league outing saw them succumbing to a 1-0 defeat to Osasuna at the Reale Arena, with Ante Budimir scoring the decisive goal.
Real Sociedad finished ahead of Inter Milan in Group D after securing 12 points from their six games.
But they now face a very tough challenge to make it to the quarter-finals with PSG as their opponents.
Team News
PSG boss Luis Enrique will not be able to avail the services of many players this week due to injury issues. Presnel Kimpembe, Nuno Mendes, Sergio Rico, Milan Skriniar and Layvin Kurzawa will all be missing as they are currently in the infirmary.
Meanwhile, Real Sociedad are also dealing with plenty of injury problems, with Sheraldo Becker, Carlos Fernandez, Alvaro Odriozola, Kieran Tierney and Aihen Munoz all sidelined. Additionally, Mikel Oyarzabal is a major doubt for the away game on Wednesday.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Real Sociedad prediction
PSG were not entirely convincing with their performances in the group stages, winning two and drawing two of their six matches to finish second behind Borussia Dortmund. However, they are expected to prevail in Wednesday’s home clash against Real Sociedad who have been enduring a poor run of form.
