Premier League transfers business has picked up with the January window set to close on February 1.
Due to the Financial Fair Play restrictions, most of the clubs are more focused on outgoings than incomings this month.
And the latest story from the English league is coming from West Ham United who have reportedly sanctioned a departure for Said Benrahma to Lyon.
The two clubs have reached an agreement on a loan with an obligation to buy for around €15 million, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
The Algeria international has also been granted permission to travel for his medical tests but is in the United Kingdom at the moment.
Benrahma joined West Ham in the summer of 2020 from Brentford.
He established himself as a key member of the Irons’ team, making over 150 senior appearances over the years.
But the 28-year-old has been struggling for minutes under David Moyes this season, making only five Premier League starts.
Benrahma still has over two years left on his contract at the London Stadium but the English club have decided to let him go.
He will hope to reignite his career in the Ligue 1, where he has previously played with Nice.
The Algerian is comfortable playing on both sides of the wings and can also be deployed as an attacking midfielder.
Lyon, who are currently battling relegation in the French top-flight, will hope Benrahma hits the ground running at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais and help them out of their bad situation.
