Indonesian Esports Organization BOOM Esports announced the final player of its Dota 2 2024 roster. BOOM Esports has notably undergone serious roster changes recently to find the best possible team composition. Last week, the organization only announced four players — Crhistian “Pakazs” Savina, Mario “LittleBoy” Valdivia, Rodrigo “n1ght” Cruz, and Jose “Panda” Padilla — and it lacked a midlaner. However, on 5th January, it announced the return of Jordan “SLATEM$” Vega as its mid player.

BOOM Esports decided to bring back SLATEM$ as its final player for the 2024 competitive season. This announcement was made on X. Introducing SLATEM$, BOOM wrote, “He’s back, stronger than ever. After undergoing a few evaluations, Slatem$ is back on our starting roster. He will once again brandish the midlaner position and will bring more power to our squad!”
With his signing to the team, the all-Peruvian lineup will be debuting in the BetBoom Dacha 2024 closed qualifier on 7th January.
The roster now comprises of:
The community, however, was not pleased with the return of SLATEM$ and several users criticized BOOM Esports. The comment section under the announcement post was filled with mockery, seemingly signaling a lack of trust in the midlaner and expectations of another disappointing run.
It tweeted, “The trial period has concluded, and starting today, they are no longer part of BOOM Esports. We would like to express our gratitude for their dedication and efforts during the period.” A few weeks after the disbandment, it adopted a new roster without a midlaner to jump back into the competitive scene.
Notably, BOOM Esports CEO Gary Ongko Putera confirmed in a podcast that it won’t be playing in the Southeast Asian region ever again. With a fully revamped roster, BOOM Esports is set to mark its name in the annals of Dota 2 history in South America.
