The 19th Asian Games 2022 was originally scheduled to take place from 10th to 25th September 2022, but was later postponed an entire year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced that esports will make its debut at the Asian Games 2022 with medals being awarded in eight titles in 2021. However, the esports program at the Asian Games 2022 now includes only seven medal events and one of the events is for Dota 2.
Top Dota 2 pros from different nationalities have arrived in Hangzhou to compete in the 19th Asian Games Dota 2 tournament which is all set to begin with the Group Stage on 29th September.

A Guide to Dota 2 Event in 19th Asian Games 2022 Hangzhou
The 19th Asian Games is a major multi-sport event scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China, between 23rd September and 8th October. Dota 2 will be a medal event at the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022 and will be the final esports title played on 2nd October.
A total of 14 teams will be participating in the Dota 2 event and of them, only five are seeded teams. While the seeded teams start directly in the Quarterfinals, the remaining unseeded teams will have to play in the Group Stage.
The nine unseeded teams have been put into three groups with three teams in each. In each group, the teams will compete against each other in a round-robin format with best-of-one (BO1) matches. At the end of the group stage, the top teams (one from each group) will make it to the playoffs.
